04.18.11 more power to you
People say change is good – I suppose that’s true, but I prefer to describe it as empowering. Realizing that you can change something in your life is empowering – it tells you that you’ve got life by the tail – not the other way around.
Almost three years ago I made a major change in my life – I left my career in magazines. Because of that one big change, I’ve probably made 100 more small ones – some good, some not so good – but all empowering.
I’ve been told over this time that many of you miss my Editor’s Letter and to be honest, I’ve missed writing them. And so I’m going to start here again – shorter for screen reading but still reflections, musings and muddlings of life at home – after all, that’s where most of the good stuff happens, right? I’ll also be giving you a sneak peak into the latest creations coming out of my studio.
Creating my own product line is so much fun – I have to share it!
Today I’m going to leave you with a quote from a lady who knew a few things about change. I have it tacked up on the bookshelves beside my bed:
“You gain strength, courage and confidence in every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” Eleanor Roosevelt

Cobi Ladner, Creator and Editor, cobistyle
from my studioThis spring, cobistyle products are blooming at a decor store near you. Brighten a room with crisp white cotton pillows with just an outline of colour – I love the generous 20” size, luxurious down fill and zipper (yup - they’re washable) plus they’re made in Canada!
The super natural looking “everlasting” peony in a glass vase wins our award for ‘most versatile accessory’ in the line. When we did our photography, it moved around from shot to shot and always looked perfect.
This bench is one my favourite furniture pieces from cobistyle. The tufting, turned leg and caster make it a classic! Although you can choose from over 40 fabrics and 16 leathers, our pink velvet is to die for. I see this piece at the end of a bed, or for the summer - in front of a fireplace piled with books – anywhere you need a little piece of pretty rolled into action!
