what’s your colour personality?

Did you know there are people called Numerologists who believe in linking your name to numbers and colours for clues about your personality? Sounds a little far fetched, but fun none the less.

Here’s how it works:

Take each letter in your name and find its corresponding number in the guide below, then add all the numbers together.

A J S 1

B K T 2

C L U 3

D M V 4

E N W 5

F O X 6

G P Y 7

H Q Z 8

I R 9

EXAMPLE: Cobi 3+6+2+9= 20

Now, reduce the total to a single digit by adding it together: 2+0= 2

Here is the Numerology Key to your Colour Personality:

1. RED

The most dominant personality. A visionary and risk-taker: energetic, passionate, tenacious, flamboyant, and courageous.

2. ORANGE (me!)

Balanced both mentally and physically. Happy, loyal, takes each day as it comes. (hmmm…not so sure about that!!)

3. YELLOW

Cheerful, charming, magnetic, intelligent, confident, and creative. Somewhat psychic, and enigmatic. A good leader and negotiator.

4. GREEN

The perfect balance between the physical and mental. Grounded, logical, not easily influenced, rarely judgmental. An intensely loyal friend - and has lots of them.

5. BLUE

Optimistic, empathetic, flexible, idealistic, tranquil, patient, devoted. A natural mother.

6. INDIGO

A brilliant old soul who is intuitive, sensitive, impulsive, curious and ambitious, with a great lust for life.

7. VIOLET

Also an old soul. Intense, cerebral, wise, loving, generous, sentimental, and artistic.

8. ROSE

Main qualities are strength, love and leadership. Turns visions into realities. (I want to be Rose!)

9. GOLD

Radiates love, joy, compassion, and understanding.

I hope you meet a rainbow of good people today!

Dear Shellbell,
Of course you can paint the walls of your dining room a pale cinnamon.  In fact, it sounds divine!  Don’t you know you’re talking to the girl with nutmeg coloured walls in her dining room and watery blue silk drapery and art?  I love paint names that make you think of yummy things, don’t you?
I guess cinnamon is lighter than nutmeg - but it sounds like a wonderful warm foil for the cool, clearness of pale blue.
Have fun spicing up your dining room and let us know how it goes!
Cobi.

Well. The first time I got green. Perfectly me. The colour I gravitate towards in fashion and decorating AND I am a Scorpio - loyal to a T.  Except I added wrong and I’m blue. No can do blue. I’m not serene.  Serene is wishful thinking. Fun exercise but I’m sticking with green:)

I want to compliment you on this lovely blog. You are so generous with the digital images you share interwoven with personal vignettes of love and life. It makes me like you more and I already admired your decorating style - that sweet cottage in PEI and the true-to-yourself-itness that you exuded on the editors’ panel on House & Home TV.
You work in perhaps the snobbiest industry in the world, well maybe fashion and traders trump you; but what I love is your sincerity and my feeling that you believe decorating can be accessible even for those of us without the means to hire a decorator. Let’s face it - the vast majority of us plain folks shop at IKEA and Pier 1! “Not that there’s anything wrong with that”.  So kudos and thank you. I will be checking back because baby, I love your love of colour!

And one question:  with all this watery blue right now, can I still paint the walls of my dining room a pale cinnamon?

Shellbell:)
