My kitchen is featured in Chatelaine magazine this month - the October issue is on newsstands today. It was fun to spend an afternoon ‘back in the biz’ with two talented people I worked with in the past - Virginie Martocq, Home Editor at Chatelaine and photographer, Michael Graydon. Here’s a picture of them hard at work, with Michael’s assistant, the lovely Valerie.

Of course, when they first asked me to be featured, all I could think about was the nicks and bumps on the cabinetry and the wear and tear on the floor (our kitchen isn’t new) but then I thought, ahh, those imperfections only show that we use it! And overall, we do still love it and spend part of every day in it - cooking, cleaning, talking, singing, laughing, spilling, fighting…. how could you not love that space? Anyway, I know how much good photography can hide, and so we went for it wink .

Thanks Chatelaine! It was lots of fun.

I also admired your kitchen when I saw it in Chatelaine!  So much so, in fact, that I am using it as my inspiration for our kitchen makeover that we are just starting.
Can’t wait!
Thanks for showing it to us!

Hi Cobi,
I’ve followed the story of your kitchen right from the beginning and have always admired every bit of it - your choices in the charming curtains, your tile and island colours (before and now) and when you added the gorgeous skylight. And I spotted it right away in the Oatmeal Crisp commercial - you don’t forget a beautiful kitchen like that!
btw: I’m an ex-Chatelainer and really miss those shooting days too (I worked on food while I was there). happy memories smile

thanks for the behind the scenes glimpse of the shoot.  I admire the fact that you are positive about the ‘nicks and bumps’ as those are earned with the hustle and bustle of life… kind of like our laugh lines!  They indicate that your space is actually used for its intended purpose and not just a display room.  I was a H&H subscriber when you featured you kitchen (and other) renos- and your kitchen still looks beautiful and timeless.  (also, think I saw it in a cereal commercial recently)
thanks again Cobi, for you fun and inspiring blogs.
