better red than dead
How to liven up a room in your house instantly?
![]()
Add a piece of painted red furniture.
![]()
It could be something big.
![]()
Or it could be something small.
![]()
It could be an unusual find.
![]()
Or something from IKEA.
![]()
It could be a high-end score.
![]()
Or a chinatown score (with a bucket ‘o paint).
![]()
It could be the only red thing in the room.
![]()
Or there could be only red things in the room.
![]()
Whatever piece you choose…
![]()
Red is sure to command attention.
![]()
And so get out your handy paint brush…
![]()
Or if painting isn’t your thing, your handy staple gun…
![]()
Or if stapling isn’t your thing, your handy wallet - because of course I put a painted red cabinet into my cobistyle furniture line…
![]()
And in fact, we’re featuring red in the new cobistyle Lighting line due to arrive in stores later this Spring!
![]()
There’s no doubt, red is a welcome guest in our homes.
![]()
And puts a happy tune in our heart, far beyond Valentines.

I always love getting your newsletter and I enjoyed the ideas in red, thanks!
Happy, what feels like, Spring Cobi;
Thanks for the red inspiration. I do love orange and saw an abundance of it down at IDS 2012. But have always loved red. It makes me smile to see it and I feel I can go forth and adopt a red “something or other” into my beige space. I tried the orange route and my daughter said all she could see was Sham WOW. Look out Cutie here comes a lick o’ red.

I do not own one red item for our home which is softer colours of sand and sea but do recall a fabulous beach-style elegant home featured in House & Home that was accented with turquoise and then hits of red and it look spectacular.
The red lantern is a show stopper so unexpected, Love it!
